Mark Study
The stories of Jesus show us more than a historical accounting of the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Join us for a single weekend as we take an in-depth look at the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and look intently into questions of Christ’s character, the nature of the gospel, Christ’s authority and love in our lives, living in faith vs. fear, what it means to grow as a Christian, community, ministry, spiritual disciplines and a whole lot more… We will learn and use an powerful method of study called manuscript study.
Mark Study will:
- give you an opportunity to thoroughly familiarize yourself with one gospel
- highlight two to three areas of your life that you would like to work on
- help you know Jesus more intimately
- teach you to learn to love scripture and to study the bible for yourself
- give you a space to interact intimately with your fellow students to build relationships
- still leave you some time to finish your weekend’s homework on Monday (we have Martin Luther King day off )
One final thing to consider: Mark Study is also a way for newer leaders to prepare themselves for ministry for the upcoming year. It is for this reason that all of our leaders are required to go through Mark Study before joining leadership. If you are even remotely interested in leadership, either with InterVarsity at OSU or elsewhere in life, Mark Study is in the first case, required and in the latter, simply invaluable.
