CROSSculture^08

Posted in General at 8.26 pm

Coming up the weekend of the February 15th is InterVarsity’s winter conference, which is now called CORSSculture. If you’re already going and are just curious about something - dates, details, what to bring, etc. just call or email Jason, Mimi or Jeff (fix the email address before sending ;). A little bit about this conference from their website:

CROSSculture 08 is a conference about the mission of Jesus on campus. Interestingly, Jesus chooses students and faculty and staff to accomplish that mission, through compelling lives and a compelling message, through love and boldness, and through fervent prayer and the feral presence of God. The theme of this year’s conference is Prayer and the Holy Spirit and we will be looking at the early chapters of Acts to see how the people of God were filled with the Holy Spirit and were given power through Him and prayer to be Jesus’ witnesses to the entire world.

Also let any of the above people know if you are interested in going and haven’t yet registered.

Laboratory Room 001 (in the lower level of the East Wing)

ATTN: The new time for the service is 6:00 p.m. It was previously posted as 7:00 p.m., but there will be no service at 7:00 p.m. The 6:00 p.m. time has replaced the 7:00 p.m. time.

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, which is a 40-day period of reflection, prayer, and fasting in preparation for Easter. We are holding an Ash Wednesday service in order to enter into this season and participate in an observance that is practiced all over the world in many different denominations and churches. In the service, we will learn more about the God who gives second changes, begin of the Lenten season, and receive the sign and blessing of ashes.
